If your headlight, NOT YOUR CAR, has a build date of 08/00 thru 07/02, your headlight can be baked open. If your headlight has a build date of 08/02 and beyond, it CANNOT be baked open because Hella used black RTV silicone to mate the back housing and the lens of the post 08/02 headlights.

How do you know build date on a headlight? On the top part of the lens or the backside of the housing itself, you will see a date stamp like this...(the date stamp on this is 7-06 (July, 2006).

OP, if you indeed have a 2003 headlight, you will need to perform surgery on it to replace the adjusters.
